supergood.

tonight is cara’s last night in town. to celebrate we made shrimp tacos, watched america’s next top model, and took goofy pictures.  enjoy!

15 weeks!:

after we got the obligatory bump pictures out of the way, goofiness ensued:

i am now 15 weeks and 1 day pregnant.  our baby is the size of an apple at 4 inches from head to rump!  this little darling’s getting big.  this week, baby is forming taste buds and beginning to sense light.  apparently, if i shine a flashlight at my tummy, he/she will move away from it.  CRAZY.

the biggest development this week is that i now feel the baby moving fairly regularly, especially when i lie very still.  it feels like tiny pieces of popcorn popping in my abdomen.  at first i thought it was little gas bubbles popping, but then it happened more and more when i wasn’t particularly gassy.  now i feel these little pops intermittently throughout my day.  it’s truly amazing.

i’m off to watch superbad and enjoy cara’s last night here.  having her here has been wonderful, and i will miss her so much.  i hope my child has a cara in his/her life.  everyone should have a cara.

i have been very lucky to have a lot of wonderful adventures in my young life.  many of these have been in the company of my best friend and partner in crime, cara.  from drinking in dublin on saint patrick’s day to a whirlwind 22 hours in australia to enjoying la dolce vita in tuscany, we have seen a lot together.  as i embark on my biggest adventure yet, it’s amazing to know she will be now be aunt cara.  here are some of my favorite pictures from our travels together:
